She became a Schoolteacher at the age of
twenty-three and worked in a local School until April 1992, when war broke out in Bosnia.
She fled from her hometown and went to Belgrade,
then to Prague.
Days in Belgrade were another big Artistic
influence, as she found refuge in yet another Art studio, this time with Ana Milutinovic,
her good friend and iconography specialist. Billie lived in Anas studio, and worked
with her on icons for a local church. Uses of gold on her paintings are vibrant
witness of this experience.
After few months, she went to Prague, spending
days on Charles Bridge, and mixing with the local Bohemia.
After leaving Prague, she travelled to the UK.
Billie now lives in Windsor, UK, where she
works and exhibits.
Her work is inspired by inner beauty, and all her
models are Windsor women and men. She paints nudes, abstract, paintings for children and
Fantasy Art. She also writes for children, Women's and Alternative magazines and
teaches drawing and painting in Windsor.
Billie's work is supported by her
practice of Ki-Aikido. |
